Pizza Time
2021
A large group project I completed in 2021 is Pizza Time, a hybrid between Spyro and Tony Hawks Pro Skater. I took the lead of the technicians, produced a plethora of technical art, wrote most of the games blueprint scripts, and managed the teams production schedule alongside developing maps for the project. During this process I spent time with the games artists to learn more about their discipline so that I could have a greater understanding of the production pipeline. This has allowed an expansion of my knowledge into areas of the games industry where I was previously uninformed.
Orb Garden
2021
The main project I worked on in 2021 was Orb Garden. This 2D Puzzle Platformer brought together all the skills I had been developing over the past 3 years into a complete package. The design of the title centred around bounce flow, taking inspiration from multiple metroidvanias. This pushed me to learn how to develop save game systems, complex object interactivity, and momentum based player controls.
Fish In The Sea
2021
At the start of 2021 I took part in the Global Game Jam. The theme of the Jam was 'Lost & Found'. I took the theme in the direction of love and loss, focusing on the process of dating viewed through a comical aquatic perspective. Through this project I learnt the importance of scope, keeping the project to a size that would be achievable within the 48 hour time limit.
